"Rizal is an eye doctor, and eventually became a writer and a member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement who aimed to rise against Spain through political reforms."
"He was charged by the Spanish government for the crime of rebellion, because of the writings that he published which inspired many Filipinos to flare up against the government. He was executed in the now known, Luneta Park through a firing squad. Because of this, he is named to be the national hero of the Philippines as mandated by the law. He published two famous novels, Noli Me Tangere and El filibusterismo, and several essays and poems.  When Rizal was just eight years old, he wrote his first poem, " Our Mother Tongue". This poem will be discussed much on the next page for our activity."
